255 indy v8 questions.
My dad was an engine tech at an engine rebuilding, and dyno shop in the sixties. Carroll Shelby was in the market to buy a farm in our district. I surmise Carroll shared info about Ford's brand new Challenger V-8 and it's race versions with my dad. My dad passed away in 2000, so I inherited my dad's paperwork. I compiled this cart from various sources. A young guy asked a question about the 255 Indy engine, I tried to contact him, but his e-mail was fake. Hopefully he will see this post, if not you fordanatics out there can enjoy it. drop that clutch!!
Yeah, cute little guys. Only flaw they had was the small bore diameter. In normally aspirated form this restricted valve size and ultimate power. There are a few hiding on shelve around the U.S. on shelves. When the owners pass away, I hope relatives don't scrap them - ouch!
