Hey there-- my name's Chris, I'm 40 and live in southern CA. My girlfriend owns a '93 Escort Wagon, she's got about 85,000 miles on it, doesn't drive it a lot as she takes a lot of public transportation, but it's great for hauling stuff and passengers. I have a '68 VW Bug myself, and I'm president of a local VW club.

My car used to break down from time to time (I got a new motor built 3 years ago, no issues now), and she always used to say that hers was a lot more reliable. I would joke that when her car got to be 40 years old, we'd talk. I'd also joke that when it came to Ford Escort cruise night, we'd go!

Her car was very very reliable, only now there's a problem where it's not turning over (I've already posted in the Escort section), so for now it's my car doing all the driving, although I have no problem with that!
