Default Better Towing....2wd/4wd?

Anyone have much experience with towing to know if you get a higher towing rating with a 2wd or a 4wd pickup?

2wd actually has a slightly higher load rating over 4x4. As well as Crew, Super cab and chassis length affect carrying weights. Having 4x4 available is a big plus should traction needs ever come to play.

Thanks Hayapower,

I had read the towing stats and realized it was also based on weight, so the smaller the cab the higher the rating. I'm assuming that also applies to a short bed having a slightly higher rating than a long bed for the same reason?.... (assuming of course the hitch, etc. are place properly on the short bed.

I just wasn't sure if the 2wd/4wd made any difference, and I don't do any off-road camping that should require and traction issues.

Thanks again
