Daytime Running Lights

Daytime Running Lights
I'm having an occasional problem with the daytime running light on my 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis LS.
Sometimes when I turn off the engine, the daytime running lights stay on and I have to disconnect the battery negative cable.
Usually, after disconnecting the cable several times, the problem stops, sometimes for several weeks.
A friend mentioned that he had heard that the problem could be related to the keyless entry pad on the driver's door, but I'm hoping that a member of the Ford Forum might have an answer.
PLEASE HELP!!!!

The issue with your daytime running lights staying on after you turn off the engine could be related to a malfunctioning relay or wiring problem. It's less likely to be connected to the keyless entry pad. I'd suggest checking the relay and wiring for any signs of damage or corrosion. If that doesn't solve the issue, consulting a mechanic or electrician would be wise.
