engine locked up
I've got a 2011 F150 with a 3.5L Ecoboost. i had timing chain issue as most do.
replaced all chains phasers vvt solenoids guides. upon start up with fuse for fuel pump removed
i turned key ran through procedures to start. turned engine over to build oil pressure.
ran start cycle several times. charged battery and repeated. last cycle it rolled over and stopped dead.
it didnt fire and turned over fine until it froze.
i thought either the starter was stuck or chain skipped. possibly my timing was off.
tore it all down again repeated process this time using proper heavy duty timing plate tool to position and lock cams.
assembling the front end i put dampener on and ac stretchy belt on, rotating it stopped again.
totally over looking the initial thought of starter..
due to this being an interference engine what position is cyl. 1 supposed to be in ???
this engines chain had jumped when i initially replaced all timing components.
any input would be greatly appreciated.
