Fan and temperature gauge

Default Fan and temperature gauge
I have a 96 Contour and neither the fan or temp gauge work. Was wondering if anyone new how to fix?

What size engine please? We can look up wiring and diagnostics and offer more assistance.

I'd think a Contour that the temp gauge that always read too high like most of them did wouldn't be missed!
