First Time Forum Go'er
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Boys and Girls,
Children of all ages,
This is my first crack at posting anything in a forum although I have browsed numerous times with hopes of finding answers to small problems I have had here, there, and yonder with the fine products that are graced with the Blue Oval on the front grill.
Now, I know that some of you out there may want to kick the crap out of me for owning/having owned anything other than a Ford but I figured that I might as well give the competition a chance before I decided to drag their names through the mud. Within the past 8 years (I'm 24 so since I've been driving) I have owned a 1985 Trans Am, 1995 Dodge Dakota (2.5L 4Cyl 2WD), 1991 Mazda B2200 (the engine's not big enough to count), 1982 GMC Sierra 1500 (305 CI later replaced with 350 CI which my brother totalled for me), 2002 Honda Civic (I was broke and it was cheap), 2003 Ford Ranger (4.0L 4WD), 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 (5.7L Hemi), 1994 GMC Sierra (350 4WD), 1979 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat (351M, 2WD, 118k original miles, all original everything...right down to the muffler), 1995 Ford F150 XLT (I6, 2WD) and 2007 Honda Civic (my EX wife thought it was cute and got flipped upside down when she traded a brand new loaded 2006 Toyota Tacoma 4WD...heck I thought the Tacoma was "cute" in comparison).
Out of all of these vehicles, the sole survivors, minus the Ram (which is up for sale as I'm typing this), is my Fords. There's just something about them that I like. It might just be the fact that these trucks are made for MEN from the factory and don't need a whole lot of extra unless you just want to get wild. I love my 1979 and 1995 Ford F-150's, and wouldn't sell you my 2003 Ranger for the world. I haven't had a lick of problem (minus a starter or alternator here or there) out of any of them (obviously the 1979 doesn't see much action with that few miles on it). My only complaint is that my 1995 has 212k miles on it and I wished that it were in a more new state. Which I'm thinking of attempting to freshen up the inline 6 with a 351 but I have to do a little research as to what else I would have to change to go with that. Maybe that'll get taken care of after the Ram finds a new home.
Anyway, I look forward to having some interesting conversations with you guys and learning some along the way.
