Default Ford 500 powertrain to a Freestyle

So I have hunted and hunted, read forums, and found an AWD Ford 500 (awd) that has the cvt (but works) and my freestyle (cvt that doesn't). They are nose to nose and so far almost everything is VISUALLY SAME. BUT I looked into a plugin on the transmission of the Freestyle and compared it to 500 and pins are different!
Presently I have pulled all components( that I have found) away from the body and am preparing to drop K frames(K frame bolts are identical on center to center distance measurements) out from both. It appears as if the Freestyle has room for the awd driveline above the exhaust as the 500 is but CAN I simply remove the the driveline and run the AWD without it?...not to mention I may have to swap harnesses, OR can pins on pig tails be pulled and swapped to accommodate? (I have computers for both but wonder what nuances I am approaching if anyone knows)
Thanks!

Oh yes!!! one more thing! Both cars can drive* but the cvt in freestyle is garbage. the 500 works great but it was side swiped deploying curtains and rear wheel is not exactly square any longer! (But I was able to drive it 6 miles to my house as the disastrous mass it was :-)
