Hello from Northern New Jersey
Hello ladies and gents,
MarshallGibson here new to the forum not to a wrench. I currently own a '05 Five Hundred SE and a '11 Explorer XLT. Recently my FH was at the Dr's office because she was sick with the electrical flue and could just not get better. Horn, headlights, taillights, windows, trunk and rear defrost wouldn't work. It would also tell me my parking brake was on and oil pressure light was on as well.
I brought it to a small shop that wanted to McIver some wires to bypass the problem, I immediately took my baby home. And after months of sitting I took her to a dealer who found the problem and had to cough up $600+ for the repair.
It turns out that there were some cracked wires and some melted...how'd that happen? I dunno
Furthermore, I had a bad no 3 coil...they wanted $500+ to fix that. No thanks, I could do that myself.
It wasn't an easy job but I got it done in about 1.6 hrs. Now it needs new brakes and tires...*sigh. But after almost a year of sitting waiting to be repaired she's almost ready.
On a happier note, my FH SE is like no other. She had wood trim and other upgrades that transforms my baby.
Will post pix soon.
