NEW TO THE FORUM
Hello everyone new to the site, Just stopped in to say hello and check out some information, I just picked up a 98 Ford Explorer and while warming it up in our first snow storm it's check engine lite came on, well wen down to AutoZone and 0170 and 0174 codes came up. I will do a search but any advice would help, I was told by a friend @ford they are prone to upper and lower manifold gasketsgoing bad in higher mileage ones BTW it's got 141,000 on the clock with a 4.0 overhead valve. Just want to get it fixed so I don't have to take out the 04 Mystichrome Cobra (450/460 rwhtq)
Thanks guy's/girl's

The codes mean lean on both banks. Look for a vacuum leak after the mass air meter. Check at the lower intake ports (spray with choke cleaner while idling) Also look at pcv hoses
