New here and plan on having plenty of questions&info about my van engine upgrade
Well I had tried some other Ford forum and it was literally dead with new posts like once a day even though it at one time came up as the top result in Google for "Ford forum", so I've moved on to here hoping it's a bit more lively.
I'm currently in the process of completely overhauling my 1984 Ford E-150 (Viking Vans custom), bought it for a steal about a year ago now for only $900 at about 89k miles in new condition with the only thing broken being the fuel tank switch and well... the engine didn't have an oil change since 1999.
After it collecting dust for nearly a year in my yard it's finally been drug out of hibernation and into my friends garage. We are fitting it with a Windsor 351 to replace it's weak Windsor 302, the interior will be completely gutted, cleaned, insulation and carpet replaced, and reinstalled, with the rear bench seat that converts to a bed moved from the back to the driver side wall to allow storage room for our ATV when needed. Suspension will be lifted and larger tires installed, rear axle will be replaced along with a selectable locking differential installed, possibly new shocks from getting so much air time I flew over an entire intersection... still looking into that to see if they really did blow... :P , automatic transmission replaced with a manual racing transmission (will be one of the harder projects and done more down the road), exhaust system completely replaced and glasspack exhaust fitted, quad-battery bank with 3000+watt inverter installed, sound system completely upgraded down to every single new wire, overhead off-road light bar and fog lights. Oh and to finish it off... it's being converted to run on propane.
In basic it will be made into a true A.T.V. All Terrain Van. ... I should make a bumper sticker saying that.
Hope this sounds interesting to you all! I'm going to have plenty of updates and questions (mainly engine upgrades related, aiming for 600HP minimum)
