Hi Everyone,

Thank you for setting up this great site. I've been a Ford owner since 1989. First car was a 89 Taurus GL wagon which is still on the road. Had a 91 tempo which was a dissapointment then a 1995 Mercury Sable LS wagon which was a good car except for the coil springs all broke at 70,000 miles. I just bought a 2004 Ford Taurus SEL wagon which has so far been a big headache. It only had 14,000 miles in showroom condition but has been to the dealer at least 16 times. Bad brakes(rotors), leaking rear hatch, audio problem which they can't seem to fix, speaker in front door replaced, rear defrost window not working etc. I have never had so much trouble with a car before. I'm hoping someone has an answer to my audio question. The dealer has been very helpful so far but unable to correct the problem. Thanks

Hello Luke, and welcome to the forum. I had a problem with the speakers in my Aerostar a couple of years ago. It was several months after I adjusted the hatch. The speakers still worked, but sounded bad. After a LOT of serching, I found that there was a speaker wire pinched under a nut that bolts the hatch on. The wire split a little and grounded all the speakers. Your problem could be a lot like that. Your hatch leaking, the rear defroster not working and the speaker problem could be that maybe it's been wrecked. Pinched wires, water or air leaks can be signs of that. Good luck!!!
