transmission issue
Hey All
Just signed up to Ford Forum a few minutes ago. I have a 68 merc parklane convertible with 73000 miles. C6 390 Eng.
After starting the car and putting in reverse I can count to 15 and it will finally drop into reverse,I then put in drive,it shifts 1st to 2nd ok but will not shift into 3rd until after approx a mile or so then it is fine and shifts great for the rest of the time,I did a band adjustment and replaced the vacuum modulator with no help any thoughts? Delay the same when D is selected too (not backing up first) ?
Usually when you have an engagment delay like that it can be caused by converter drain back. After some sit time, the converter drains and then on a restart it has to refill before line pressure can build. Will it make all shifts manually cold?
