ticking
hi everyone,
I brought an au xr8 series 3 220kw manual this year.
Mods so far include 3in cat back exhaust, k& n panel filter, splitfire leads and plugs.
Befor all this hapenend i noticed a ticking noise coming from the engine, someone told me that
it might be the pushrods not connecting with the rockers correctly, this noise is getting a little bit worse
every month
can someone please help me to resolve this
cheers daza...

Well , Iam going way out an a limb here , my speakers are a lil garrabled, cant really make the sound out to clear-- But yea thats a good start the clearance between the rockers, if it is excessive you will get a ticking. ??/Iam not really well versed with your engine , does it have HYD. Lifter"s , if so when was the last time you checked your oil ??? , I've seen where a oil change has helped this as the old oil was way past its time to be changed has'd thinned out too far ., if its a high mileage motor it might need to be refreshed, you should be able to narrow down which cyl is the worst, an go from there , I know on some Ford motors the oil pump would make a ticking type noise, Ive had fuel pumps do this , An have had various other engine componets do this as well as some emission componets, you just gotta dive in there an dig around
