Default Tired old girl needs a makeover 89 F250

So I lucked out and got a good deal on an 89 F250 XLT Lariat (LB 2WD single cab c6 351) Miles @ 140k + she’s got highway gears unfortunately and a bit gutless. I’m at a position where I can put her up and start the tear down of the engine and rebuild the trans. I wanna do all the work myself to save some cash and the ability to say I turned the wrench on most of it. However I’m a novice when it comes to this stuff. I’m a pretty sharp student in most things so learning isn’t an issue just need a straight shooter teacher lol. IDE like her to be a solid mix between towing and street. What should my first steps be. Also would like the factory AC to work again. As well as dual exhaust

Welcome to the site..

looks like a worthy project.

An RV cam or similar, a tad more comp along with dual exhaust would wake it up some. When you go through the systems let us know and we can shoot you some build info/illustration..

Default Wild hair idea last night

Would buying a block to start this on be a better idea since This May take quite a while being knew to motors and all. Also how much power will that c6 hold?
