I have a 2006 Ford F150 FX4 crew cab 5.5 box with a 4-speed trans. CD4R75E I want to know if the 6-speed trans. out of a 2006 Lincoln Navigator CD6HP26 will interchange and if so would I have to use the PCM out of the Navigator to make it work. Both engines are 5.4 duel fuel.

 

From a quick look over on the R&R these two transmission cannot be simply inter swapped.
Four main things I noticed are numbered most important/certain to least.
1: The transmission electrical connectors are completely different styles, I suppose its possible you could bring the wiring harness over from the 6HP26 vehicle but that would open a whole other can of worms.
2: The transmission cooler lines on the 4R75E the trans cooler lines are two lines wither separate bolts to attach them to the trans on the pass side, on the 6HP26 the two trans cooler lines both go through a single mounting plate which bolts them to the trans on the driver side.
3: Both have the transmission mount on the frame crossbeam right near the output flange, However the 6HP26 has a engine to transmission support brackets on both driver and pass sides, which the 4R75E does not.
4: It would appear that the transmission to engine mounting bolts are in different positions when comparing the two transmissions, now the pictures could be incorrect as it does state both have 7 bolts, the 4R75E picture only shows 6, the 6HP26 picture only shows 4. Like I said I could be wrong on this point as I am only looking at a single picture for each and am eyeballing the locations to compare between transmissions.
