I personally am not a big fan of Dodge trucks; I would have purchased the new F-150 over a new Dodge, too. There is a reason that Ford consistantly sells far more trucks than Dodge and finishes ahead of Dodge in every major car magazine when they do comparison testing.

Congrats and welcome to the site. I personally for fullsize prefer Dodge, But I don't hate because someone wants the Ford truck. I think they both have good trucks, and if you are happy with the truck, then that is all that matters.

I have heard alot of problems with Fords. However most of the problems seem to come from people not properly maintaining their vehicles. I have a few friends that have had Ford trucks for years without any problems at all. I own a Ford Explorer Sport and the only problem I have had was the drivers door lock switch went out because my friend left the window down when it was raining.
