Default Kelly / NADA Books

Went to a Ford dealer last night with the intention to buy. Well long story short, they low balled my trade in by 3 grand and said that they use wholesale/auction house Black book prices. I think there just full of BS, for those books are dead on with retail selling prices, but how come they never use the above mentioned books, when it comes to the buyer and his vehicle? I don't mind them making some profit, but they always want to get it from both ends. They went back and forth at least 4 times, raising the price they wanted each time and finally I drew the line, picked up my keys and walked out. Had cash in hand and a paid off 07 trade in. I guess that the stimulus bailout package does not really affect the consumer, for the dealers are not offering anything to come in and buy a car, but they will still attempt to pick your pocket in a heart beat.
