Survey; Anybody lost their Driver's License? How?
In Illinois at one time they had no points.
Instead, three moving violations in one calender year and that privileged piece of paper called a Driver's License was revoked for a period of time.
If the violations kept coming, the Driver's License was rescinded.
That was not good.
I had 13 moving in one summer! Opps. With a good lawyer and big bucks some of those moving guys went 'away'. I remember I had a moving reduced to a head lite out. I don't know how...
My first DRAG RACING TICKET was one of the 13 and it was achieved that summer in a blue/green Studebaker Avanti, 289-belt driven super charger that belonged to Mr. Wm. C. Dredge II, who left Studebaker in Indiana as the V.P. of Public Relations to take a job with Andy as V.P. of Public Relations for STP in North Brook, Illinois. Mr. Dredge ghost wrote the book for Andy Granatelli [sp?], 'They Call Me Mr. 500' and I was his kid, Bill's, best H.S. buddy. I loved going over to Bill's house because he had seven sisters. So there was a lot of interesting stuff to look at...
I eventually got my D/L back.
Additionally Bill's old man was a Stars and Stripes reporter during WWll, Los Angles Times Auto Editor, VP PR Studebaker, same thing for STP, did press releases for sports stars, and secured a 100 year lease in Mexico for his house South of Ensenada. He had so much memoribilia on his walls and shelves it was impossible to take it all in on one trip. As he always said, "Bitch'en, just bitch'en" as he would look down the length of an extra long picnic table in his kitchen with his whole family seated there plus me.
skip.
