I have a 85 towncar that has pink trans fluid. It shifts fine all the way up to overdrive, then when you let off the gas it will slam into overdrive. If you ease off then it will ease into overdrive. Why? Thanks

Sounds to me like a possible vaccuume leak. I don't know exactly, I had an 89 towncar
and found out the tranny used in that car was an older model but w/ an extra gear
(overdrive) and they can be fussy. Have the tranny serviced and have the bands adjusted.

 

sounds like the accumulator valve might be a little sticky to me then again what does it do if you don't let off of the gas ?

 

it might be that the transmission filter needs to be changed or a weak front pump in the transmission !
