200 I6- 302...
I'm swapping out my old (and tired) 200 inline six with a 302. first , if you didn't know, the 302 was an option for the 78-79 fairmont (4.2L 80-83). the Inline and 8 shared most of the same parts, the same tranny (exception bell housing) and rear axel... I have all the gear i may need. minus the mount bushings. I was wondering if anyone had done this kind of swap before, and if I could get some advise...
thank you in advance.
oh yeah! this car started the whole "FOX" chassis in 78. so that means all parts from mustangs (79-93) will fit into her..

Yes. I swapped in a V-8 mustang rear suspension and dumped in a 351 Windsor (nearly identical to 302). Going from a 6 to a V-8 can be a mess though. I believe I used a double hump oil pan and modified the engine mounts.

thanks for the "heads up". my next question is...
if the tranny i want to put in currently has a transfer case, how hard is it to switch over to a tailshaft? It's a C4, but i think i'd rather scrap it for a C6...
