2018 Ford Ecosport Recall of manu defective oil pump
I'm one of the lucky ones that had the manufactured defective oil pumps and it erupted on November 17, 2023 resulting in totaling my engine. I'm part of the recall that came out in December 2023 but Ford isn't recognizing the unfortunate people that have actually had the pump fail. The recall is minimizing us and pretending that the part they are trying to manufacture will prevent the pump from failing for those that haven't had it happen yet. That part was supposed to be ready 1st Q of 2024 and it still is not available. That part will not help those of us that have had the pump fail and destroy our engine. They are totally ignoring me and continue to blow me off expecting me to put up with the BS that I have to wait until the part becomes available and in turn be placed in my car and all will be good. NOT. I am appalled at their treatment of me and the issue I face. Aren't they supposed to address recalls in a timely manner? NHTSA also is ignoring my calls and emails addressing my issue. I'd bet money that Ford worded the recall in such a way that it minimized my issue and focused on the part on purpose as a way to gain more time, I don't know but it's criminal. I'm still paying on my Ecosport and it's been totalled since the day it happened. I've had to rent cars and purchase another vehicle because of my job. I'm single and only had the one car. That's all I needed but they assume I had a backup at home or something and this wouldn't impact me at all. Financially I almost lost everything. I lost my job and had to retire early just to have some $ coming in each month. I don't know what else to do. I'm hoping someone will know someone at Ford that I can contact that will take my matter seriously and fix this so I can put it behind me.
