I just bought a 1955 4 door customline ford , it has a 372 v8 engine with 3 speed on column , (not for sure engine is correct size think that is right) but any ways it is stuck in reveres, I have taken the shifter rods loose from transmittion and can shift the levers on transmition , The levers are stuck on the column shifter need help with this don't want to break any thing , I have greased the shifter at the fitting near the leavers that the linkage connects to column. Dose anyone have a diagram of how this works or to take the column apart and what maybe causing this.

 

Probably 272 or 312, slight chance it could be 332 or 352, although I think they came out a couple years later. If it sat for awhile, the bushings may be stuck. I would try WD-40 on them.

 

And, I am jealous. I would love to have a 55 or 56 again.

 

anyone know where I can find a diagram on how to take shifter column apart if I need to, I have saw some cd's for sale and books but don't want to buy something that want help me with what I need would like to find something that will help me with everything a bout the 1955 ford customliner since this is a rebuild project
