94 cougar is not running correctly, missing/no power.

I can fix anything but, I am by no mean an expert so i may not be describing it correctly.

It is a 1994 Mercury Cougar 3.8 V6. 96,000 mi One family owned, mine.
So, i know everything that has been done to it.

It dose not run right, feels to me like it is missing.

When you accellerate it dies off and comes right back then gains slowly. (may not be related to the main problem)

The severity of the problem changes every other time i try to drive it.

When you try to drive it, it usually can not make enough power or run steady enough to get above about 35mph.

I replaced plugs, wires, rotor, cap all after it had started this. That did not help.



I do not know what else to say right now.... ask questions...

 

Did you check the fuel pump or filter?
