2008 Mercury Milan

I went to shut the door yesterday and it bounced open, looking on the side of the door the latch got pushed down somehow? I used my car key to pry it back open and the door shut, i locked it and went on my way. But when i returned to my car this started.

Every time I pull on the outside driver side door handle the lock goes into the locked position.

Using the unlock/lock remote will move it to the unlock position as well as the unlock/lock switch on the inside of the car, but pulling on the outside handle will lock the door.

Neither the outside or inside handle will open the door so I've had to climb out the passenger side. All other doors work normally.

Has anyone else run into this or hopefully solved this?

took off the negative cable of battery for 15 mins. climbed back in car and opened door from inside. Shout out to local AutoZone!!!!
