Dang, I was hoping they use that platform to make new V8 rear drive 30 year annaverary addition Mercury Cougar with sequeantal lights base on the '67 or '69 model with a little from the 1.2.3s[:@][:@]
you figgure the Mustang would gave the that idea[:'(][&:][8D]

Thats a shame , nice car !!!!, probaly get replaced by some lil shoebox , 4 cyl toy thats sounds like a pissed off bumble bee

If the decision was mine, there would be less Fords with Mazda badges and more with Lincoln/Mercury badges. I have no interest in buying a Ford with ricer badging on it.

what are they doing ending LS and taurus as well in 06.makes you wonder what they are thinking

At least in my area, the Taurus sales are few and very far between. Everyone that was in the Taurus market prefers the 500. I agree that ending the LS production is a mistake, but, at least in my area, they really aren't selling like they have in the past. I guess they expect the new Zephyr, or what ever they are changing the name to, to attract the same customers. I had a 2004 LS limited and would in no way even compare it to the Zephyr or whatever they are calling it now. The LS offers so much more and is rear wheel drive, a plus in my book.
