289 Engine built by racer Animal Jim Feurer
Animal Jim Feurer is a famous dragster and racer from central, IL and has rebuilt this engine. Please do not text as we do not accept these. Also the price is pretty firm and we do not have time to mess around. Please read the following information about this engine
It is a stock 200 HP 289 out of a 66 Comet. Has org rebuilt 2V Ford carb &
spacer,orig.dist, orig. lower pulley and damper rebuilt by Damper Dudes. I
completely rebuilt this engine.Carb to pan. I bored it .030. Is Torque
Honed, Crank polished standard. Has stock type pistons, Speed Pro molly
Rings,brand new stock connecting rods, new std. Clevite rod and main
bearings and Duro Bond Cam bearings. New Comp Cam 252 Mileage Cam, CC Roller
Timing set, lifters, springs, keepers, and new stainless valves. New TRW oil
pump. I did put a Petronix module in the distributer reconditioned and strobed,
new cap and rotor and a new Petronix coil.It has K&N oil filter, 5 quarts of
Penn's Racing oil, and 16 OZ of Comp Cam Break in Lube. The engine oil
pressure primed at 60 pounds using a 300 rpm drill. Primed to insure all
rockers oiled.
Even the aluminum ID tag is there. Also the Alternator brackets. And motor
mounts. It does have a pilot bushing in the crank. It is a perfect engine
for an original 289 car restoration. will make a bit more than the stock 200
HP.
A steal at $2950. I could not rebuild a customer's 289 for that. The virgin
core was worth $750 or more. But I need some room. Buyer will get complete
build sheet listing every operation, spec and part.
