Ford Navigation CDs for sale
I have navigation CDs for sale from the North America Map 12-CD Set Version 4V from Navteq (Copyright Navteq 2007 and Visteon 2007). This is the latest version available. I bought the set new earlier this year for a 2004 Expedition with navigation system and only plan on using Map 1 (California and Nevada) Since I dont plan on using the rest of the set, thought Id sell them. Here are the ones I have for sale. I'm selling them for $30 each, plus $5 shipping. Let me know if you're interested or have any questions. Hmm, people seem very interested and you're making a decent profit.
I'd be interested myself, but don't want to do anything shady and the areas I normally drive in cover 3 or 4 CDs on the set I have now (MI, OH, WV, IL, WI, Canada) so that's too much money... heck, it was way overpriced at $17/CD considering it is Dec 2006 data, they're really overdue to put newer update on their website. I got a note from them last October saying:
Has anyone tried to make a CD for personal use that reorganizes the states/regions so you don't have to switch CDs all the time? Trip routing is pretty bad when you're travelling across CD borders, too, it would be nice to improve that. (I know, buy a new car that uses a DVD.)

Thank you for contacting NAVTEQ. The release date for the next update for the 2006 Ford Hybrid has not been officially announced. The last update was released in August 2007 and generally updates are released every 12-18 months. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

OK. BUYERS BEWARE!!!!! If you are attempting to upgrade from an older version, you will need a copy of the application disc that comes with the upgrade in order for the Nav system to be able to read the updated DVD's. There is only ONE application disc that comes with the upgrade!!!!! You cannot use these DVD's in a system that has the system 2 DVD's. As soon as you try to load a 4V DVD, the nav system asks you to load the application disc.

Hi eddieBexped, you're correct that most systems will need to be upgraded using the application disc. I've found that most Ford dealers will upgrade your system as a courtesy and have been telling buyers this. I've sold 3 of them so far and have not had issues from any of the buyers.
