FS NYC AREA: 1990 Ford E350 Diesel 22 Passanger Bus with Lift
Hey all... ok i know this is gonna sound strange but yes i do have a BUS for sale.
My father bought this bus from Michigan almost 3 years ago thinking he was going to either use it for church or use it to help elderly people get around. I was hoping i could convert her into a bus for my band, but in the end we never found the time to fix her up and now my dads being pressured by the city to get rid of her.
The bus is a 1990 Ford E350 Diesel 22 passenger bus with a wheelchair lift and a tow hitch VIN#1FDKE30M8LHB02033. It has 115k miles and a clean NY State title. We did drive the truck home from North Michigan to NYC (around 750 Miles) and the engine did not give us any problems (except it smoked alot) during the whole trip. We had to unbolt quite a few of the seats because in order to transport a vehicle that large without registering as a bus, we needed to have 15 seats or less and the words "NOT FOR HIRE" on the side. We used black duck tape to mark the words, so it can be peeled and cleaned off (by the buyer since you will need it on there to move the bus around).
All the seats are still in the bus, but only 15 are bolted in, the rest are just laying there. The tires are almost BRAND NEW, so is the Alternator, and a bunch of belts.
The two major things that need work on the bus is 1) Engine smokes alot, but never overheats or stalls, keep in mind, it is a diesel. It does pull very strong. 2) Charging system has something wrong with it... the truck pretty much runs on batteries and we arent sure why the alternator doesn't charge good. We replaced the alternator twice, once before we left, and once after, but it still wouldnt work right. Im sure its a very easy fix and with it you could make a lot of money. We just dont have the time or mind to fix it.
We bought it for $5200 in 2005 and were looking to get around $3500 OBO for it. Please if anyone is interested please contact me @(914)602-2816. We need to get rid of her ASAP.
PICS: The car is located in My brothers lot at the moment, Its very hard to get good pictures because its surrounded by vegetation, and other cars (ie, giant RV, Vans, Tow trucks...) i tried my best to get some decent pictures. You are free to come and check it out your self.
