2016 Ford Focus dash lights go out after pressing the operation button.
Just recently I have had my car suddenly stall for no apparent reason, then the display shows 'Startup system failure" and the car refuses to start, but I did notice when I pressed the operation button on the gear select all the dash lights go out, including the computer display, the same when I press on the brake pedal, and also when I turn on the wipers, does this mean the battery is totally fudged? If so, and I get a new battery, are there any procedures that need to be taken when fitting the new battery? Such as, reprogramming the fob, resetting the computer, etc etc.
Depending on where you purchase the replacement battery, they come with the necessary info to enter into the vehicle's computer notifying it the battery has been changed,
If the computer has compensated for the old battery with a special charge output and now the new battery doesn't require that charge output it can ruin the new battery by overcharging it.
Battery replacement is not as simple as it once was.
