4R70W leak
Hi. I have a 4R70W in my Gen 1 Lincoln Mark 8, and it is leaking through the cover at the bottom of the bell housing where you would access the converter drain. There is no fluid on the converter itself, which would seem to me that it is leaking down the front of the tranmission, like from the front pump gasket. I know there is a front pump seal, as well as a gasket, and o ring that seals the front pump to the transmission case. Is there anything else in there that would cause this type of leak? I know it's just a couple of bucks worth of seals, but I want to be sure that there is not something else that could cause this before I take it apart.
Thanks.
Thanks.

RE: 4R70W leak
Addproper type (less than 1oz )fluorescent tracer dye oil to the trans and drive it for awhile .Drain the torque converter if equipped with a 11mm-7/16" drain bolt.R&R the trans after checking for any external leakage with a black light and yellow glasses.Afterremoving the drained torque converter, check the pump area with the black light. It will illuminate the path of leakage as a bright yellow green.
