Default Decode an AOD

Hello all,
My first post. Not really know what I'm doing yet.
I have an AOD that I want to install in my 70 Mach-1. I need to know if it will fit and how to decode the tag. The engine is 289!!

PKAD S 2 (the S may be a 5)
044447 F29
E85P BB

-The bell housing has a large # 23 on top
-The case reads RF-F9DP-7006-AA
-Tail Shaft reads RF-EOAP-7A040-BD

Any ideas on instilation would also be great. HELP

I'm new as well, unsure if I'm using this correctly...no computer genious!
I need this information as well. I'm going with an AOD in a 71 Cougar instead of the stock FMX. I have a transmission I intend to have beefed up but, want to make sure it'll work. The tag on the tailshaft reads:
PKA DV1
077274 M7
E9SP HD
Bell housing marked with large 22 on top. Last thing is the oil pan. It has the Automatic Overdrive Metric embossed in it. I'm sure it's an AOD, but how do I find out what it came out of?

Any Help???

@shickpack

All AODs will bolt up to later 289s.

@tgiesa

Hijacking a thread will generally NOT get you the QUALITY answers you want. Always start your own thread to get the BEST answers.

Default AOD trannies

Rule of thumb is the good Ford mechanical AOD trannies were from 1988-1993 and were bolted behind a 302 or a 5 lite. 1993 was a change over year from the AOD to the AODE and the AODE was hooked behind I believe the 3.8.
Also the only electrical plugs on an AOD tranny is the nutral safety switch which is screwed directly above the shift lever in the case on the left side with 4 wires coming out of it and the wiring hookes in to the electronic speedo imput on the later units at the tail shaft. If anyone else want to chime in here and correct me on any of this go ahead as I am no pro at this later stuff myself.
