98 WIndstar, 3.0 engine, 197k.

I have the code P0446, I have looked at the canister and hoses by the fuel filter and loook good.

WHere is the canister vent solenoid located?? IS it by the firewall on the driver side???

There is a preformed vacuum hose from the upper plenium that goes to the firewall, to which I think is the solenoid. am I correct???

I also get a periodick high pitched hiss but have not figured where it comes from.

Can the canister vent be cleaned and tested or does it have to be replaced.

This vehicle is relatively nedw to me.
