Default 98 Windstar GL

Hello everyone. I have a 1998 Windstar GL with about 92,000 miles on it.

About a week ago the "Trac Off" light on the dash started to blink along with the "ABS" light coming on and staying on. Both happen at the same time after driving for about a minute.

About 3 months ago I had the front brakes done, but not the back. The mechanic said they shoud be done very soon. Could this have anything to do with it? Would worn down rear brakes send a signal?

Your Traction control will use the ABS wheel sensors to determine tire spin and engage the brake to stop the spin. If ABS goes youwould lose both. Most likely you have a bad sesnor at one of the wheels. The sensors can be tested with a multimeter to determine if they are still in tolerance. My 95 W-star was around 2000 ohms, but you can check a Haynes or Chilton for the spec.
