I have a '99 Windstar that has me baffled. Often when warm (Not hot) it will fail to start. When it tries to start it will run extremely rough, backfire, and die. After letting it cool down it will start and run fine. A few times recently it has died while driving when slowing down and the engine is near idle speed. The only codes I have been getting are running lean on both banks. New fuel filter, MAF sensor, camshaft and crankshaft sensors. Replaced upper and lower intake gaskets and changed gaskets/O rings between the air filter and intake. Tried to check the codes this afternoon and got nothing but a blank screen. Code reader works on my '06 F-150 so it is fine.

Any good ideas on where to go next? About ready to drop it at a shop so they can figure it out.

It is a handicap ramp conversion for my wife's wheelchair and I can't afford to replace it. Right now I am afraid to let her go anywhere with out me driving.
