This is my first post. I have a 99 Windstar that has an issue with the cluster. Prior to replacing the transmission (after it sat for 5 months without being started or driven on the lot at the dealer because of the recall) the cluster would display dashes in the odometer but when the car was started it would display the mileage then go back to dashes. The mileage would increase as I would drive but it would only display prior to putting the van in gear. Shortly after the trans was replaced the odometer stopped recording mileage and it has displayed the same mileage for the last 3 months. I thought I could get another cluster from one my friend is going to scrap, but I have read if you remove the cluster the van will not start and requires reprogramming. I would like to get this resolved, is there anyone that can offer some assistance, as it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!
