HELP - Trans overheating - have codes - 2000 Windstar
Hi
I have a 2000 Windstar 3.8 - just started having issue. after highway driving in this heat - it will often have an issue once I stop going fast and get onto surface roads. the OD light will flash and itwill also say check transmission. It goes away after stopping & briefly cooling. no codes or engine light - but when I use a mechanics Autel Maxisys Elite scanner - I get these codes...
P0731( CMDTC - Transmission Gear 1 incorrect ratio)
also showed NGSC Fault (Next Gen Speed Control Sensor)
and PCM Fault 2 (Powertrain Control Module)
& IC Fault 8 (Instrument Cluster)
my own little scanner also had U1262 & C1103
I had a rebuilt done at 93,000 and it is now 45,000 more miles - trans doesn'tseem to slip or anything - I am going to have my mechanic friend open and drain fluid - change filter and I am thinking of also changing all 5 solenoids in there ($99 total for OEMs)
Any advice would be great!!
