Is it possible...
...that by me just clearing the message on the message center (reset) without having it fixed (oil change, check brake light, etc.) that it would cause the electrical panel to flake out? I ask this as earlier this year I was waiting to change my oil even though the message came up on the message center. I kept hitting reset for a couple weeks only to have all of the lights come on one day with the beeps. It freaked me out so I took it to the dealer. They told me I needed to have the alternator replaced, so I did. After getting home I read the paperwork where the mechanic who actually did the work noted that he checked out all of the codes and they referred to the electrical system, but since they couldn't find specifically what was wrong they would replace the alternator to see if that would fix it. The end of February my registration was up so I had my safety and emissions. The next day the message center gave me an alert to check left brake light. I've been putting off getting it checked and just hit reset on the message center before driving (just as I'd done with the change oil message). Last Friday I hear the alert beeps and a flashing on my dashboard. After turning the vehicle off and restarting it there seemed to no longer be a problem. Today the same beeps happened and then the ABS and battery lights came on. When I turned the vehicle off and on again I then got the message in the message center to check my battery and that light stayed on. My alternator and battery are new... is it possible that instead of there really being a problem that instead my van is getting upset that I'm resetting and not following the message center advice? Ok, I'm not really nuts, but I do feel like it's because I'm not addressing the minor issues.
