Anyone ever experienced reverse lights in park?

A wiring issue or a faulty reverse switch on the transmission can do that. You provided no vehicle information so my response will be as vague.

Hey man forgive me—this is a 2003 Ford Windstar….with a brand new torque converter, drive-chain, wiring harness and neutral safety switch. Of course this implies I’ve been inside this thing poking around…potentially causing problems. I’m pretty sure I’d done everything by the book…literally. This issue did not occur until after my transaxle work.

You might want to look up the proper adjustment for the Manual lever position sw, formerly known as neutral safety sw. If it is not adjusted correctly, that is one of the problems you could have.

Now that makes sense only I’d used the alignment tool to the best of my ability(which ain’t a whole heck of a lot)—though this seems the most plausible explanation to the symptom

Default Reverse Lights In Drive

Incidentally I did realign the neutral safety switch to extinguish the reverse light in drive range selection. I tell you “Y’learn suh’m new e’ryday”. Still trying to figure out though why when I’ve taken my foot off the accelerator pedal during normal road driving the car feels like it’s braking.

That could be a loaded question, lol.

Some of the possible causes could be,
Brakes not fully releasing,
trans stuck in a lower gear, not able to fully up shift.( that switch can do this).

If this problem has come up after the trans work, it most likely is related.
If that switch on the trans is not adjusted correctly or is defective , it could take you for a real ride trying to figure out what is going on.

Very possible it’s the brakes my friend. I did wonder if I’d tightened the alignment adjuster too much on the caliper

Now I could use a little help,
Not sure what you mean by alignment adjuster.

Yes you’re right that’s not the proper term….rather slide pin.
