Reverse lights
Hey man forgive me—this is a 2003 Ford Windstar….with a brand new torque converter, drive-chain, wiring harness and neutral safety switch. Of course this implies I’ve been inside this thing poking around…potentially causing problems. I’m pretty sure I’d done everything by the book…literally. This issue did not occur until after my transaxle work.
Now that makes sense only I’d used the alignment tool to the best of my ability(which ain’t a whole heck of a lot)—though this seems the most plausible explanation to the symptom
Incidentally I did realign the neutral safety switch to extinguish the reverse light in drive range selection. I tell you “Y’learn suh’m new e’ryday”. Still trying to figure out though why when I’ve taken my foot off the accelerator pedal during normal road driving the car feels like it’s braking.
That could be a loaded question, lol.
Some of the possible causes could be,
Brakes not fully releasing,
trans stuck in a lower gear, not able to fully up shift.( that switch can do this).
If this problem has come up after the trans work, it most likely is related.
If that switch on the trans is not adjusted correctly or is defective , it could take you for a real ride trying to figure out what is going on.
