'88 E350 Fuel Tank Vent...
Hello ALL! I tried to post this question before. I'm a MOPAR Old Man but I got a FORD now! My van is a 351 "W" MPI with a C6 automatic. It seems there is a secondary vent line to the tank. i repaire the vacuum line to the charcoal canister... it was completely closed. I get a wif of fuel when I walk past the rear. I did find a 5/16 line open, going nowhere; I'm assumeing to secondary vent? Does anyone have a clue to help me here?
Thank You All and Hello!! (Tucson, AZ)

Hi Bill, welcome to the Ford family !
If there is no diagram under the hood , or it is impossible to read maybe we can help.
There should be a line from the fuel tank(s) that goes to the charcoal canister. Another line should come from the canister and go to a CPRV ,canister purge regulator valve, and the other side of the valve has a line to the throttle body.
If you require additional info , will be happy to help. I would send a copy of the vacuum diagram, but it is of such poor quality you would never be able to read it.
If I remember correctly the location of the canister was such that it collected all kinds of road dirt and needed to be cleaned once in a while. I believe it was in the R/F wheel housing or right behind it.

Well, my Charcoal Canister is mid way between the wheels on R/Central frame rail. I still that ther is a secondary connection, part of it might be missing. I think I might tie this loose lin (0.3125) with a "Tee" fitting to the vacuum line from the top of the tank ... back to the charcoal canister, at the least no gas fumes. Thoughts?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I theorized that the hose should end with a check valve. I have obtained one however, the directions states mount S/B high as possible and equal to the gas cap height. That is a bit difficult. I'm working on placement. Thanks so very much for you input!
