Remote start, should it cut the car off after opening the door.

 

No, If it is the factory remote start, it will cut the engine if the brake pedal is pressed without the key in the ignition.

 

The 2010 Expedition will cut off if you open the door of the car if it was remote started. You can not open the door without the car cutting off. This is a ford remote start that came on the car new. Called the ford dealer and they advised that it was fords better idea. The book said contact the dealer if it does this. Any idea on how to fix this. Thanks

 

There must be some procedure that you can use with the remote start unit that would allow you to get into the vehicle without it shutting down, which is what you would expect it to do if the vehicle is being stolen.
Did you receive any driver's/ owner"s manual that would provide instructions regarding this procedure?
