1992 F350 with problems
I am quite new to working on Fords other than routine maintenance. However I find myself owning 3 Ford trucks now. 1995 and 1996 F250s with Strokes and a 1992 F350 with 7.3 IDI Dump on an ambulance chassis. The 1992 F350 has no brake lights. The stoplight switch is new. The rear turn signals both work. There is a switch hanging under the dash near the steering column. It is a threaded plunge-type swith and it is connected to a vacuum hose. What is this and could it be causing my problem? Also the 1996 F250 has some serious play in the steering wheel (I can move it up and down 3 inches). It does not have tilt wheel. Are the bearings inside the column replaceable? Or should I search for a used column? Thanks for any help anyone can give me. Also...I've always had GM vehicles so if anyone has a problem with one just ask me about it...I may be able to help.
