When you say goes dead, does that mean you lose all electrical power too ?
Need to be a little more specific.
Does it restart right away?
If not what do you do to get it restarted ?
Is it an F model , E model ?
Mileage ?

If it dies as soon as the oil gets warmed up that is a sign of bad ipr orings. When it restarts an hour or so later the oil is thickened up again and not leaking by as much, thus not dying.
