Default 2010 E250 dash lights

I have lost dash lights for the AC cluster and the headlight switch. I have a violet/white wire at the switch and AC cluster that doesn't show polarity. Any ideas???

Since you didn't say, is it correct to assume all the other dash lights work OK

Not sure. All the other lights work. I have a violet/white wire at the headlight switch and the same color in a two wire plug that plugs into the AC controls. I'm wondering if the headlight switch is bad and the connection for the AC control lights aren't connecting.

If I knew the polarity of that violet/white wire, I could use a jumper to see if it would light up. There is a black wire in the same connection that is a ground so I thinking the other one is a positive wire. Just not sure.

Unless someone was in the dash doing something , it is unlikely a plug would become unplugged. If the rest of all the lights including the other lights that illuminate the dash gauges (providing they are not digital)work as they should , that would eliminate the headlight switch. There just may be some defective bulbs , but some are fed illumination via a fiber optic network. Also some are lit when the ignition is turned on. Would need a wiring diagram to confirm how they are powered. Without a diagram you would just need to determine if they have bulbs in those 2 places.
