It certainly is !!
Nice to know what you might be driving,
year , model, exactly what you did. The more info you can supply the better.
If the vehicle has a mechanical clutch linkage and not hydraulic,, it sounds like the clutch fork was not fully mounted on the ball stud. If that is the case you probably could reinstall everything making sure you get the fork contacts correctly indexed with the release brg and properly mounted on the ball stud.
Not knowing exactly what you did , that is about the closest I could come as to why the fork slipped out,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,if that is what actually happened.

Default Stepped on a "new"clutch.

The car is a 1995 ford aspire and the previous owner supposedly put in a new clutch by taking out the en gine instead instead of the transmission.

i am up for it. i got the headlights working, the drivers' side is a bit dim probably a bad ground the interior light needs a bulb, the fan circuit was bypassed with a hot wire to the motor and wrapped with electrical tape. i got the whole center consol apart it was full of garbage and cigarette butts. i am going to take the seats out and the carpet and clean everything real good.
