How Do You Guys Clean Sliding Door Tracks?
We have a 2000 Windstar with dual sliding doors. We had it detailed last weekend and they powerwashed the botton that cavity for the bottom sliding door track. They did an ok job, but I think it can be cleaned better. I want to get at the rest of that cavity.
The track has never been cleaned and there were some paint that peeled from the powerwashing.
Anyone know if there's a drain hole for that track? I'm thinking of spraying with full strength Simple green to get at any remaining grease and dirt, then just rinsing with clean water. I want to make sure the water will drain out.
After I get the track cavity clean, what's a good spray to put in there to protect it.
Thanks.

No matter what type lubricant you put into the track it's going to attract dust and dirt. Ford doesn't specify any special lubricant for door latches etc., other than a good general purpose grease. Sometimes a light coating of a white spray grease will work just fine. hanky
