Thumbs up 1990 f150 4x4 conversion

hey there, I just got the best news ever. my dad gave me his 1990 f150 300 inline 6 2x4. this is the truck i learned to drive in and im super excited to have it. ive had big plans for this truck ever since i was 15.

im thinking of turning the 2 wheel drive into 4 wheel. its also an automatic and i want it to be manual. the truck in more sentimental than anything so i want to keep it. ( I know i can get a junker 4x4 for cheap)

my questions are do they make a conversion kit of some kind or do i need to buy the parts out right. if so, what parts will in need, any tips, and any brands preferences. also, could i buy a junked 4x4 and use those parts?

any info would be greatly appreciated!

thanks, James

All this can be done, but with the money that you would put into it to get it done you could just buy a 1990 4x4 with a manual transmission.
