Can anyone help me out? I have a 1960 falcon with a 144ci. When I try to start the car the engine starts and runs untill I let off the key. I have also have turned the key to run and the jumped the solinod and it does the same thing. I do have power to the coil and the points when the key is in the run position. Any suggestions?

Is there power to the coilAFTER you turn the key to start and return it to run? Try turning up the carburetor idle screw a touch maybe.

 

A new solenoid might help too.
