Default **** Me

Ok, I"m known to beat that poor dead horse to death.. I wont give up until!

So here is the question. on newer Ford engines, they use a (Coil on Plug) not like that other brand that is (coil near plug)
but often referred to as (coil on plug) So if the Distributor by passed the coil and sent only a 12v feed to the
coil on plug, would that not fire the coil and produce what is desired?
Lets not talk about wiring, if the idea is sound then a way can be found..
please someone tell why this would not work. so I can get it out of my mind.
Best
