Default Carbs used on 1956 Fairlane Victorias

I used to own a '56 Fairlane Victoria 2 door hardtop that I wish I had never sold. I plan on writing an article about my memories but 50 plus years ago is a long time.
It had Fordomatic and I believe it was the fairly common 292 cu.in. Thunderbird V8. What Holly Carb did it likely have? I am assuming it was a 2 barrel rather than a 4 barrel.
I also remember having to adjust the tappets quite often to quiet the noise. Was this common?
Thanks for your help.

Wasn't that year the Fairlane Vic had a large chrome strip going over the roof of the two door hardtop and pink was the color of the day?
Also , I believe they had a lot of problems with those cars because that was when you were able to get 100 octane gas and it made them fly , but burned the valves to pieces.
One kid was burning av gas in his and it beat everything around.

Hanky: You are referring to the Crown Victoria. It's production was a lot lower than the Fairlane Victoria hardtop, and they are more valuable today.

As to my carb question, I realize this forum is more geared to '60s Fords but I thought there might be a few old guys who remember or owned a 56.
